Father's Day

Thanks Dad for everything!
On Father’s Day, one of the ways we can show how grateful we are for the influence our fathers have had on our lives is to tell them how they have inspired us and shaped who we are.

My own father, Don, was a hard working southerner from Kentucky. He understood the importance of a strong and solid work ethic. He worked full time and did auto repair on the side, working nights and weekends to help his family. It inspired me to work with passion my entire life.

My father gave me work opportunities at an early age. I worked part time with him on auto repairs and he taught me mechanical fundamentals and how to fix about anything. I wanted to learn more, apply myself, and be like my father. When I was 17 years old, my father was called back to full time job in Chicago he put me in charge of our dairy farm in Kentucky. I grew and learned how to figure out solutions to many challenges. It made me appreciate the value of hard work and my father, and made me a better person.

Later in life, I knew that working long shifts in the ER would not be a problem because I had the strength learned in those early years. When I added to my full time job by launching a candle making business, I knew again that I could be successful juggling it all….because of my father.

At North Bay Candleworks, I’ve stayed busy making handmade candles in various scents that might appeal to the father in your life. Here’s a bit of a selection for your father, in honor of my father who continues to give me guidance and strength. These handmade candles are soy-based wax and 100% cotton lead free wicks. Each one is hand-poured, one batch at a time.

Black Sea
Mahogany Teakwood
Caribbean Teakwood
Bergamot Tobacco
Egyptian Amber
Calm Forest
Blue Spruce
Fraser Fir

Let’s celebrate the fathers in our lives and give them the gratitude and love that they have earned. Treat your Dad or the man in your life to a rich candle and tell them how you feel.

Thanks Dad, I am so lucky to have a Dad like you!
